The publication clarifies common questions about ID, referrals, emergency care, and offers practical advice for getting the most from NHS GP services.

Autumn COVID Booster Changes

From autumn 2025, eligibility for free COVID-19 vaccination in the UK will be more restricted than in previous years. The updated criteria now include only: adults aged 75+, residents in care homes for older adults, and individuals aged 6 months or older who are immunosuppressed (as defined in the Green Book). Previously eligible groups such as 65-74 year-olds and those in broader clinical risk groups are no longer automatically included unless they meet the immunosuppression definition. Vaccinations are usually offered no earlier than six months after the last dose; eligible people who have not had a vaccine before may still receive one.
