Cervical Smears
We believe it is important for women to attend cervical smear testing between the ages of 25-65. This can be done by either of our practice nurses. Please ask reception for an appointment.
Smoking Cessation
A Clinic with a specialist Adviser from LiveWire is available at the surgery on Wednesdays from 2pm-5.30pm. This is on an appointment system. First appointment will be 30 minutes, any subsequent appointments will be 15 minutes. Please ask at reception to book an appointment.
Reception can provide information about other local smoking cessation clinics, several of which are available at evenings or weekends.

Antenatal Clinic
Thursday
Patients are seen by the midwife at the clinics by appointment only, and also by the doctors during surgery hours.
Baby Clinic
Wednesday 1.30-3.30pm
The baby clinics are run by Dr Unwin for child development checks. They are by appointment only.
Asthma Clinic/COPD Clinic/Diabetic Clinic/Heart Clinic
Are all available by appointment with the Practice Nurses
Immunisation Clinic
Wednesday 9.00 - 11.30am
This is run by the practice nurses by appointment only.
Immunisations can be given on other days by appointment with Practice Nurses if necessary. Someone with the right to consent to treatment, usually a parent, must come to these appointments
Minor Surgery
Dr Unwin carry out minor surgical procedures at the surgery by appointment and the doctors will be happy to advise you on this.
Family Planning - LARC (Long-acting Contraception) Clinic
Dr’s Palmer and Wong fit and remove contraceptive implants. Dr Wong also fits coils. These appointments can be made after you have seen your GP and the appropriate contraceptive for you has been agreed.
Non-NHS Examinations
The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. Please ask the receptionist for the charges for these services.
Counselling
A mental health counsellor/alcohol counsellor is available at the surgery. Please ask your doctor for an appointment.
Travel Immunisations
Please collect & return a travel health form from reception, ideally at least six weeks in advance of your holiday. The nurses will review your plans & and medical history and phone you to arrange any vaccination or anti-malarials required. A charge will be made for certain treatments which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception.
Flu Vaccination
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients aged over 65 and those adults and children with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, and residents of nursing and rest homes, also pregnant women in all stages of pregnancy. Well children aged 2,3 & 4 are encouraged to come for flu vaccination by a nasal spray administered in the surgery.
Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are completely housebound a home visit can be arranged through reception.
Dietician
We no longer have the Dietician service at the practice.
Citizens Advice
We have a representative from the Citizens Advice Bureau who attends the surgery every Wednesday afternoon. The appointments run from 2pm. If you feel you have an issue that you feel you may need help with, please ask at reception and we will be happy to make you an appointment.
Warrington Centre For Sexual Health
From 1st April 2017 there will be service and clinic changes in Warrington Sexual Health Service.
The Young People Service (YAS) will no longer be open every weekday. This will change to Monday/ Wednesday/ Saturday. For more information on clinic opening times please visit our website: www.warringtonsexualhealth.nhs.uk
