We are increasingly being asked if we can perform private work at Latchford Medical Centre, such as procedures done elsewhere or issuing private prescriptions. Often, private consultants or pharmacies request diagnostics, like blood tests, before or after consultations.

Regrettably, NHS practices cannot fulfil these requests for two reasons:

1. Contractual Limitations: NHS GPs can't charge registered patients for services, as it would create a conflict of interest.
2. Lack of Indemnity: NHS GPs aren't insured to follow up on work done outside the NHS. Therefore, we cannot be involved.
